Complaints and Grievances
In terms of looks, Pamela Anderson and Carmen Electra are severely overrated. .. I know they're hot, just not that hot.
Who the fuck gives a damn about Lacy Peterson? .. there's nothing newsworthy about some violent domestic dispute within a middle class family.
William Hung needs to go away in a very bad way. .. my heart goes out to all those musicians and artists who have been struggling for years for some recognition. This shitpipe unleashes his self-delusions of talent on national tv, stands up to "the meanest guy on tv" and gets celebrated across the nation along with landing a record deal.
Who still thinks Bush needs to get re-elected? ..One argument I've heard for re-electing Bush is that we need to keep him in office so that he'll finish the job in Iraq. An opinion I find painfully optimistic and naive. For anyone who thinks that Bush will finish Iraq, let me remind you about a little country called Afghanistan. Or how about a man "still at large" named Osama Bin Laden?
If Bush gets re-elected, I believe that not only will we be bogged down by the Iraqi quagmire, we will also go to war with one or all of the following countries: Syria, Iran, North Korea. We have 2.6 million soldiers in all branches of military.. that number spread between (at least) 3 wars is like an open door for any other world power (*ahem*..China) to make their moves unabated.
That's all for now. | | |
| Here's something I stole from Eric Blumrich's site www.bushflash.com
"Bush Jr's 'presidency' has become yet another failure, in his lifelong stream of failures. Think about this guy- he started an oil business that shortly folded when he couldn't find oil in the Permian Basin (one of the richest oilfields on the continent.) He only walked out of his baseball shenannigans showing a profit, through favoritism and grotesque cronyism. Every initiative he issued during his tenure of governor of Texas has since been overturned by the Texas Legislature, starting the day he moved into the presidential office he stole through still more cronyism.
Really, some times, I kinda feel sorry for Bush Jr. Here's a guy whose life has been a sucession of failure after failure. Now, he finds himself in the highest office of the land, with a compliant congress, and the very supreme court that installed him into office- and STILL, he is failing at every turn. Yeah- it's easy to feel sorry for him...
Until one spends five minutes researching the consequences of these failures. Then, the small bit of pity I can muster for this two-bit thug dissolves in a cloud of heartfelt revulsion."
...
It's not that I'm anti-republican or anti-conservative. I even agree with some right-wing views. And there is no denying there are some crazy liberalist arguments out there. But what I do know is that the Bush administration needs to leave office, more badly than Saddam needed to be removed from power. Bush has bankrupted our country to make himself and his rich friends even richer, leaving the task of repaying that debt to our generation and the generations after us.
These bastards have milked the cow dry, they need to be removed from power. Vote Kerry.

Camille took me to see Turandot yesterday at the San Diego Civic Center. It's an opera by Puccini, so it's sung in Italian... but the setting is Peking, China.
Yeh... a lot of performers on stage, dressed in ancient chinese outfits, wearing ancient chinese hairstyles and head dresses, doing ancient chinese things.. and singing italian.
Once I got over that peculiarity, I found the story interesting. Some uber-frigid, mega-prude, chinese princess allows suitors to court her by challenging them to three riddles, if they fail... off with their heads!! hahaha, if only chinese girls nowadays were as discriminating in their choice of bed buddies.
Sufficed to say, this one prince eventually answers her riddles and melts her icy heart, but not before the princess abuses her power to get away from him. There's also a very aptly named character called "Liu" who is a subserviant little slave girl with a sad story. She ends up killing herself to spare the prince, she was in love with him since the day he first smiled at her, but he was only after the princess anyway. Sorry Liu!
The production was incredible, the costumes good, and the stage setup and props repeatedly surprised the hell outta me. Cheers to modern theatre!
